Enclosed in a meander of the Lot, dominated by rocky hills, Cahors , Gallo-Roman city, preserves intact the traces of its rich past, prestigious monuments of which the most famous is the bridge Valentré . A route named the Trait d'Union, leaving from the old town, made of brass scallops inlaid in the ground, bring you to the Valentré bridge. This is a stretch of the road to St Jacques de Compostelle which has just been classified as a World Heritage Site by Unesco as part of the St Jacques trail. The guided tour of the city can be done by train, boat, horse-drawn carriage or accompanied by a guide from the tourist office. Tip : when visiting old Cahors, raise your head ... Wednesday and Saturday is the market in Cahors, very colorful and composed mainly of producers.
Puy l'Evêque, medieval village, staggered on the banks of the Lot, donjon of the 13th, St Sauveur church of the 14th S. Journey through the thousand-year-old vineyards of Cahors with its vines stretching from the banks of the Lot to the plateau terraces. This part of the Valley is full of vineyards of great renown. We will be there to help you choose winemakers if you wish. The walk can be extended to the castle of Bonaguil .
Saint Cirq Lapopie , castle of Cenevières, cave of Pech Merle ..... The village of Saint-Cirq Lapopie, elected the most beautiful village of France in 2012, is hung on a cliff overlooking the banks of the Lot of nearly 100 meters and constitutes one of the major sites of the valley of the Lot. A few km away, you can finish your tour by: A walk along the towpath (starting from the bottom of St Cirq or Bouzies), a cruise on the Lot ,   the visit of the castle of Cénevières , the cave of Pech Merle .
In the north of the department in Martel , an escape of one hour by steam train or diesel to the discovery of the Dordogne valley, to be taken near the Station in Martel. To see nearby Reptiland and the Mill with Walnut Oil in Martel, made Tuesday and Thursday afternoon in July and August, is also "farm inn".
Starting from Côté Granges, take the direction of Montcuq , a well-known village via the "Petit Rapporteur" TV program, then continue towards Lauzerte , a beautiful bastide, perched on its hill. The detour is worth it.  Continue your route to Moissac , and the most beautiful cloister in Europe, perfectly preserved. Do not forget to go to the " Pont Canal ", where you will have the pleasure of seeing a boat. A few kilometers further, you will discover the " Pente de Montech ", a structure used to move boats between two levels of water. To finish the day, the Michelin guide offers a circuit that will take you through very pretty villages such as Avillar and Beaumont de Lomagne.
One hour from Carnac, you can visit the gulf of Padirac (to book by internet to avoid the long queues), very impressive and continue your tour by visiting Rocamadour , a place of pilgrimage and prestigious site. Nearby, Monkey Forest, Eagle Rock, La Maison des Abeilles, Insectopia (Padirac), the Gramat Animal Park(a beautiful park especially for children) ...
And why not an escapade in the Dordogne to Sarlat la Canéda. Discovery of beautiful villages, one on a promontory, the other hanging on the cliff overlooking the Dordogne such as Domme, Beynac-et-Cazenac, La Roque-Gageac, Castelnaud, Eyzies-de-Tayac. In La Roque Gagea c, you can take a stroll on a gabarre on the Dordogne, very pleasant according to our hosts. A few kilometers away, you can visit the Lascaux cave , reproduction of course, because the original is closed forever. A few km away, lovers of beautiful gardens will be able to discover the Jardins d'Eyrignac.
A detour through the Aveyron, go to Caussade, take the direction of Montricoux and go as far as Bruniquel, a magnificent village where the famous and very moving film "Le Vieux fusil" was filmed.Then go up via the gorges of the Aveyron, very beautiful panoramas and landscapes in direction of St Antonin Noble Val. Near St Antonin take the direction of Cordes sur Ciel, splendid medieval city. If the heart tells you, it remains 2km to go to Albi, classified World Heritage of Unesco.
